The Reinforced Power Drills are the key mobility and support tool of the Driller, destroying any kind of terrain they are used upon. They are spun by holding the fire button, and the Driller will be able to freely move while using them, with a movement speed penalty.
By default, the Drills have 38 units of fuel. When all the fuel is depleted, they with become inoperable until they are refueled at a Resupply Pod. The Drills are susceptible to overheating, and will become jammed for a short while if the heat gauge reaches 100 percent.
The Drills are an invaluable tool during extractions, as they can be used to drill a tunnel directly back to the Drop Pod.
The drills can be used to damage enemies with a range of 2 meters, which also extends slightly behind the Driller. This can be an effective strategy for finishing off enemies frozen by the Cryo Cannon. Drilling enemies will consume 0.2 fuel per tick of damage, draining the fuel much faster than digging terrain. In addition to dealing 1000% armor break damage, the drills can inflict fear on any enemy they hit. They will not be effected by any drinking related buffs or the Berserker perk, but will heal on kill if the Vampire perk is equipped.
Modifications[edit | edit source]
There are four tiers and each tier has up to three upgrades, only one upgrade can be equipped per tier.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Power Drills are very inefficient and overheat easily. This may be because the prices of fuel are low in the industrial future the game is set in.
Bugs[edit | edit source]
- Switching to the Power Drills changes the FOV slightly.
